Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 August 2026

Allied Psychology is committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and recognises that the personal and health information we hold is sensitive information requiring a higher standard of care.

1. Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with this website and our practice, we may collect:

  • Contact details you provide (name, email, phone number) when you enquire or book a session.
  • Appointment, billing, and clinical information, which is collected and held directly in Halaxy, our practice management platform, not on this website.
  • Psychometric assessment results, where used, which are collected and held directly in NovoPsych or Halaxy, our assessment platforms.
  • Session notes produced with the assistance of AI scribing and transcription through NovoPsych or Halaxy. Where this is used, your clinician will explain it at intake, and it is only used with your consent. You may decline, or withdraw your consent at any time, without affecting your care.
  • Basic website usage data (e.g. pages visited) if analytics are enabled.

2. How we use your information

We use your information to respond to enquiries, provide psychological services, manage bookings and invoicing, meet our professional and legal obligations (including under the Health Records Act where applicable in your state, and AHPRA/Psychology Board of Australia requirements), and, only with your consent, to communicate about your care.

3. Third-party platforms

Bookings and payments are processed by Halaxy, and psychometric assessments, AI scribing and transcription by NovoPsych or Halaxy. Both are third-party providers with their own privacy policies; we only access the information within these platforms necessary to provide your care. We do not sell or share your personal information for marketing purposes.

4. Storage and security

Clinical records are held in Halaxy and NovoPsych, both of which store Australian client data in Australia and maintain their own security safeguards. This website itself does not store health information you submit — enquiries sent via email are held in our practice mailbox with standard email-provider security controls.

5. Access, correction, and complaints

You can request access to or correction of your personal information at any time by contacting our Privacy Officer at admin@alliedpsychology.com.au. If you believe your privacy has been breached and are not satisfied with our response, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.

6. Data breach notification

In the unlikely event of an eligible data breach involving your personal information, we will notify affected individuals and the OAIC in accordance with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme under the Privacy Act.

7. Contact
